If you have a pre-owned Rolex wristwatch you’d like to sell, you’ve got money. You already know that. You might already have a general idea about how much you can get for it. When it comes time to decide how to go about selling it, there are two things to consider about making it happen. Time and money. I know that isn’t a revolutionary concept, of course, but it’s important. In general, if you want fast money, you get a little less. Here are two ways to sell your pre-owned Rolex watch in San Diego.

Sell to a Private Party

Except in very unusual circumstances, you will always get more money selling your watch to a person who will either wear it or give it as a gift. Someone who buys a Rolex intending to keep it will pay much closer to retail value. If someone wants to buy a wristwatch to use, they don’t need to worry about making sure there is room between the price they pay and the price they’ll get when it’s sold. They also don’t have to worry about keeping the lights on, paying the advertising dollars, or making the rent on their stores!

In general, if you can wait for your money, you want to sell to a private party. You can sell to friends and acquaintances. You can put ads up in the various online classifieds sites as well (be sure to follow guidelines from the sites about keeping safe) or you can list at online auction sites. You’ll be selling to the public, just like a wholesale buyer would. That means more money for you but it also means work and time.

Sell to a Pre-Owned Rolex Dealer

If you’re not going to sell to a private party, it’s best to sell to someone who specializes in pre-owned Rolexes. Pawn shops will give you quick money, like a dealer, but their primary business is loans so in most cases, they won’t be able to give you as much money as you can get from a dealer. Although there are few reputable online dealers, most people enjoy the personal touch and so dealing with a local jeweler makes more sense. You’ll want to find someone you trust with a history in San Diego, and I know for certain you can’t go wrong with us.
