If you would like to buy a pre-owned Rolex, there is a model that is often overshadowed by more obvious choices but is nonetheless a great option when it comes to wearing a remarkable piece of time keeping excellence from the company that set the standard for timekeeping with grace and impeccable technological flair. The Rolex Turn-O-Graph checks all the right boxes.

The Rolex Turn-O-Graph Has Historical Significance

The truth is that it is almost impossible to overstate the impact of the Turn-O-Graph on watches and watchmaking. First and foremost, it was Rolex’s first tool watch. As such, it directly influenced the Submariner and Milgauss from a functionality standpoint. With the first rotating bezel on any Rolex, it influenced other models, too. It also set a standard for design that can still be seen today in Rolex tool watches like the Sea-Dweller and the GMT-Master. It’s not an exaggeration to say the Turn-O-Graph is the foundation upon which the designs of future iconic Rolexes are based. It wasn’t produced for long and it eventually became the Rolex Datejust. Because of the popularity of the Datejust, the Turn-O-Graph often ends up overlooked as just an early version of that model. That just isn’t true. The original Turn-O-Graph represents the history of watchmaking and its entry into the modern age. There may be no more significant Rolex ever.

The Rolex Turn-O-Graph Is Rare but Surprisingly Affordable

Produced from 1953 to 1960 with a number of variations, the Turn-O-Graph is one of the rarest Rolex Models in existence. However, by a stroke of luck, the model flies under the radar in many cases, overshadowed by its more familiar descendants like the Datejust, Submariner and GMT-Master. That means many of this model’s variations can be obtained for less than $10,000. Given the nature of a watch almost three-quarters of a century old, there are also many Rolex Turn-O-Graphs that show the wear of their age, making them even less expensive. This represents an opportunity for collectors and new Rolex enthusiasts alike. More and more people are coming to know this remarkable watch, though, so pricing isn’t likely to last.

There are a number of factors to consider when you’re in the market for a pre-owned Rolex. In San Diego, we see countless customers at our brick-and-mortar store who are just starting with fine timepieces and looking for a place to start. If you’re in that position, the Turn-O-Graph might be perfect for you. Remember, your first step will also be to ensure you’re dealing with a reputable Rolex seller to ensure you get the time, attention, and fair play you deserve.
