British-born Francesca Amfitheatrof became the first female director of design for Tiffany & Co. in 2013. Prior to that, she’d designed jewelry for such fashion giants as Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, and others. Her first major release was the wildly triumphant Tiffany T. Collection. She said the design was created because, “I wanted to create a symbol for modern life and the relentless energy that flows through New York and drives art and culture around the world. This is just the beginning of what I want to accomplish.” This collection was the first step in her charge as the creative head of the entire company, the charge to evolve all of Tiffany’s products.
The Tiffany T collection consists of necklaces, bracelets, cuffs rings, and pendants, all of them with a distinctive “T” motif. Some items come with diamonds or other gems while others sport only the sleek design in gold, platinum, or another metal. Though the pieces are varied, they work nicely with each other so that they can be worn together to create a unified and stylish look.
