Make a Valentine’s Day Upgrade

I’m a third-generation jeweler. I’ve been doing this for a very long time, and there aren’t many things I like better than helping people with their jewelry needs. I think of jewelry as more than just the materials involved. To me, jewelry is special because of how it touches the hearts of people, what it means to them, and how it commemorates relationships and special events.

That, to me, is the reality of jewelry. What it represents matters a great deal. The meaning is far more important than the materials. But jewelry is still made of materials. That means jewelry gets broken. That means that jewelry goes out of style. As people grow and change, the materials may no longer reflect the emotions, thoughts, and commitments. That’s when an upgrade or a trade-in makes a lot of sense.

One of my favorite things to do at Bert Levi Family Jewelers is to help customers by buying the jewelry that no longer makes sense to them. I love doing that but my absolute favorite way to do that is when someone wants a new item of jewelry that better reflects their desires now. It happens most often with engagement rings, when a couple buys very wisely when they’re first together but gains financial traction and wants a bigger or nicer diamond for the ring.

Taking an item in trade for something that better fits a couple’s lifestyle or sense of fashion is always something I enjoy. It happens a great deal around Valentines Day because it’s a great excuse to upgrade an engagement ring or to take family jewelry and give it a fresh, updated look. Naturally, a lot of my customers do that on days special to them like anniversaries and birthdays.

If you have jewelry that doesn’t fit your sense of fashion anymore, you might want to consider trading it in for something that does. I’m a licensed jewelry buyer, so if you come by, we’ll weigh your precious metals on a scale certified and calibrated by government officials. We’ll do it in front of you, and we’ll make sure you get a fair deal for your trade. Of course, if you’d like to sell rather than trade, we’ll help you with that as well.

So, bring your jewelry to my showroom in La Jolla. You’ll be treated like family. I guarantee it.
