Knowledge is power. That’s why it’s important to know where to shop, where the best deals are, and how to get the most bang for your buck! We included some tips here for you to consider when shopping for an engagement ring.
Increase your engagement ring “vocabulary.”
When shopping for a ring, the associate may ask you questions and you might hear terms that you are not familiar with. Google engagement ring terminology and know the value of each type, size and cut of ring so that no one can rip you off.
High price does not equal high quality.
If you are not sure what you’re looking for, you are setting yourself up to get ripped off. Some jewelers may sell expensive jewelry but they are not registered with a national organization that regulates the quality of their merchandise.
Stick to your budget.
Don’t let anyone coax you into buying more than what you can afford. This is supposed to be a memorable time when you are thinking of someone special in your life. You should not look back at this moment with regret that you will be paying for the rest of your life. Give the sales associate a price range so that you won’t be tempted to buy beyond what you can afford.
Know what she wants.
Do you have a slight idea of what she may want? Have you asked her friends and family, or has she dropped hints here and there? If there is an engagement party coming up for someone else, this would be the perfect opportunity to watch how she reacts to the bride-to-be’s ring. Listen to her comments and see if you can pick up on clues about her preferences.
At Bert Levi Family Jewelers, we care about your preferences, budget and style. Allow us to make this a special occasion for you as you make one of the most important decisions in your life!
