Why We Have Created a Rolex Tutorial

Rolex and luxury are synonymous. For years, discriminating men and woman have considered a fine watch an indulgence worth the expense, and without question Rolex is the name that first springs to mind when considering fine watches. Although there can be a substantial investment involved in procuring a Rolex, the beautiful pieces are immensely popular. There are a number of reasons for this, and the appeal of a fine timepiece is understandable when you consider a few things.

First of all, there just isn’t a great deal of jewelry that men can wear without appearing ostentatious, and a luxury watch is beautiful but still understated and appropriate with professional attire. In fact, when a man is dressed in a fine business suit, an inexpensive watch looks out of place! There’s something that just doesn’t seem right when a man’s tie is more expensive than his watch. A beautiful watch, though, is one of the very few accents to a man’s wardrobe that isn’t just good but is almost mandatory. The durability and quality of a Rolex speaks volumes about style without overstepping the bounds of appropriateness.

Second, Rolex is steeped in tradition and history that spans a century. It was one of the first companies that suggested a fine timepiece could be created as a wristwatch, and the profundity of that focus is remarkable. Rolex didn’t come about as a luxury but instead as an unending focus on quality and precision timekeeping that quickly became the standard for accurate measurement of time. Over the years, the company’s impact on various aspects of watchmaking grew dramatically. Rolex played a large part in the transition from pocket watches to wristwatches and was instrumental in implementing quartz movement.

Although now we think of Rolex as a luxury piece of jewelry, there’s a rich history that goes well beyond the wealth associated with ownership of one of their watches. Instead, they’ve played an important role in all aspects of timekeeping, and this tutorial will not only help you to understand the Rolex of today, but also to appreciate what made this company what it is.
