How to Buy a Magical Engagement Ring

Updated: Mar 4, 2022

At Bert Levi Family Jewelers, we’ve become known as the engagement ring specialists for the Greater San Diego Area. We have more than three-thousand designs in stock, and almost every design can be customized to fit almost every style. We also have an extensive inventory of pre-owned Tiffany & Co. engagement rings, and we’re excited to be able to offer those items at prices more affordable than new rings. If you’re ready to ask the big question, here’s some advice when it comes to finding a ring filled with the same magic in your relationship.

First and foremost, don’t overspend! We can’t emphasize this enough. Sure, an engagement ring is a symbol of your love and commitment but don’t make the mistake of believing it’s a reflection of it! We don’t believe a wealthy person who spends $20,000 on a ring loves more than a person struggling to make ends meet who can only afford $1,500. We also believe it’s important that a couple start their marriage on the best financial footing possible, and going into horrible debt right at the start is a good way to start down a path that can kill the magic! Don’t worry, though. We have beautiful and elegant designs and almost every one can be customized to fit almost any financial situation. In addition, pre-owned Tiffany engagement rings can often fit nicely into your budget so you can consider those as well.

Secondly, make sure you understand your intended’s tastes. Is her other jewelry kind of showy? Pick a design with a lot of pizazz. Is her jewelry more understated? Chose a quieter, more elegant design. Does she favor silver-colored items or yellow? That will help you to decide between white gold, platinum, yellow gold, or something else. Remember that your ring should reflect the personality involved, and the real magic is in how well it does that. Our own designs and our pre-owned Tiffany & Co. engagement rings come in a variety of styles so drop by our conveniently located downtown San Diego showroom and let one our GIA Accredited Jewelry Professionals help you get started!
